Established in 1971 on 212 acres in Springfield, Gate of Heaven Cemetery has served Catholic families across the diocese for over five decades, with more than 5,800 interments to date.
The cemetery offers a range of burial options to honor each family's needs and traditions. In-ground burial is available in both flush memorial and upright monument lots. The beloved Saint Mary Section, developed in 2002, offers a beautifully landscaped setting with two-grave monument lots — our most popular in-ground option.
For those seeking above-ground entombment, the Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum — completed in 2008 — stands as a testament to the faith it embodies. With its white steeple and luminous stained glass windows, this striking structure holds over 2,000 spaces for full-body burial and cremated remains.
