A Place for You
Sacred Care for Families Across Western Massachusetts
Choosing a place of burial is among the most sacred decisions a family will make. In the Diocese of Springfield, we approach this not as a business transaction, but as a graced moment — an opportunity to integrate faith into the reality of death, and to honor the body that was the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Cremated remains may also be inurned in a columbarium — a bank of niches located within the cemetery grounds or attached to a cemetery building.

Saint Michael Cemetery, Springfield
St. Michael the Archangel Chapel Mausoleum
Crypts Starting at $4,084
Named in honor of St. Michael the Archangel, this mausoleum was designed to be both an enduring monument to the deceased and a place of peace for the living. Approached by a winding drive through a sheltered entrance portico, the chapel features a split-face granite façade, Carrara marble walls, Italian tile mosaics, and a wooden cathedral ceiling with skylights. Stained glass windows fill the space with light, creating a serene atmosphere for committal services and private prayer.
Entombment crypts are available in both interior and exterior locations. Cremation niches are also provided.
